Guttate psoriasis

A rash of the skin consisting of numerous scattered patches could be many different diagnoses. A form of psoriasis called guttate psoriasis presents as red, scaly patches of the body often after strep throat. Pityriasis Rosea is a rash of red, scaly patches predominantly on the trunk caused by a virus. Secondary syphilis can also present with red, scaly patches of the body and needs an antibiotic to be treated. If a rash of scattered patches on the body is persisting on the skin, it is best to see a dermatologist for evaluation and treatment.
