Dr. Taub Summer/Fall Letter 2025

Dear patients, colleagues and friends,

Summer always brings a sense of renewal, and this year, that feeling is especially profound as I enjoy precious time with my new grandson. Watching him discover the world has reminded me of the beauty and importance of new beginnings—whether in my family or in the field of dermatology, which continues to evolve at an inspiring pace.

Even as I cherish family milestones, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with colleagues and sharing knowledge at some of the most respected dermatology conferences in the world. This spring, I presented at the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) meetings in Orlando, delving into the science behind skin tightening and the latest advances in rejuvenation using ultrasound, radio-frequency, and microneedling RF. I also introduced exciting new research on using high-intensity ultrasound to lift and smooth the philtral area—the space between the nose and lips—and improve those stubborn fine lines around the mouth. In May, I traveled to Lisbon for the 5CC Congress, where my talks focused on lower face shaping, jawline contouring, and the artful use of both injectables and energy-based devices to achieve the most natural results possible.

One of the highlights of my year has been seeing two of my own clinical studies published—an achievement that represents months (sometimes years!) of collaboration and discovery. Sharing this research with both the medical community and my patients is incredibly rewarding and reaffirms our ongoing commitment to bringing you the very best in evidence-based care.

That same spirit of curiosity and innovation is reflected throughout this issue of our newsletter. Inside, you’ll find a wide range of articles designed to inform, inspire, and empower you in all aspects of your skin health and confidence. In our medical section, we address real-world challenges such as recognizing and treating shingles, understanding how cancer therapies affect your skin (and what we can do to help), and supporting patients with unique concerns like acne keloidalis nuchae or managing psoriasis during and after pregnancy. We’re also excited to feature Dr. Dabade’s article, which takes a closer look at the viral skincare trend of beef tallow. By separating social media hype from scientific reality, he offers a dermatologist’s perspective on whether this trend truly lives up to its claims.

Our aesthetic articles showcase the latest innovations available at Advanced Dermatology. You’ll learn about our new Linder Peel options for acne, anti-aging, and sensitive skin, the modern science behind the Nefertiti Lift, and new non-invasive solutions like EMFACE® Eye for rejuvenating the delicate eye area. We also explore EMSCULPT NEO® and its role in both sculpting and functional health, offer a provider’s perspective on tattoo removal for those eager to make space for new art, and present our comprehensive toolbox for scar treatments. From targeting facial redness and brown spots to exploring regenerative therapies with exosomes, we’re excited to help you discover what’s possible for your skin.

In our skinfo® news section, we’re setting the record straight on sunscreen myths and facts, introducing XOMD™—a revolutionary moodceutical® that goes far beyond traditional skincare—and featuring some of the newest product launches curated by our team. No matter where you are in your skin health or aesthetic journey, I hope you find these articles helpful, enlightening, and inspiring as you consider your next steps. Thank you for allowing me—and my growing family— to be a part of your lives. As always, our team is here to provide you with personalized care, guided by the latest science and delivered with warmth. Wishing you a wonderful, healthy, and vibrant summer and fall!

Warm regards,

Amy Forman Taub, MD, FAAD
