Photorejuvenation

Years of unprotected sun exposure to the skin adds up and often leaves the skin wrinkled, dull and full of brown spots and redness. Photodamaged skin can be cosmetically displeasing and more likely to develop pre-cancerous lesions and skin cancer. Thankfully, the sun damage in the skin can be corrected by a procedure called photorejuvenation. Photorejuvenation can also improve symptoms of rosacea such as generalized redness, flushing and small blood vessels appearing in facial skin.

Photorejuvenation is a series of treatments usually performed 4 weeks apart. Improvement in the skin is seen after each treatment but a series of 3-5 treatments is needed to achieve optimal results. Photorejuvenation utilizes many different technologies customized to fit each patient’s needs. At Advanced Dermatology, we use eLight and ELOS Plus (IPL with radiofrequency), laser Genesis (a 1064nm laser), Vbeam Perfecta (a 595nm laser) and Revlite, a q-switch laser. Each of these devices has unique features. A series of treatments with eLight and ELOS Plus dramatically improves redness, small blood vessels and brown spots in the skin with little to no downtime. This treatment also utilizes radiofrequency which enhances the safety of the treatment and promotes new collagen formation, leaving the skin tighter and more radiant. Laser Genesis is a painless, well tolerated treatment targeted at improving generalized facial redness and flushing with no downtime. Vbeam Perfecta treatments easily improve both large and small blood vessels and redness in the skin. The Vbeam Perfecta is considered the gold standard in pulsed-dye lasers due to high safety rating, improved comfort of treatments, and superior results. The Vbeam Perfecta utilizes a patented DCD cooling system which sprays a cool mist on the skin during treatment to improve comfort during the treatment. Revlite, a q-switch laser treatments can dramatically improve brown spots on the skin. During this treatment, the laser energy pulse releases the pigment into the skin so it can be naturally reabsorbed and disposed of by the body.

The abundance of devices and technology we have at Advanced Dermatology allows us tailor fit each treatment to the patient. We can safely and effectively restore the skin to its natural beauty and deliver the results you desire.
