At Advanced Dermatology we have invested in FotoFinder bodystudio, an advanced imaging software and hardware photography station in order to make this procedure possible.
We can take photographs of the entire body as well as photographs of specific moles we want to follow or are concerned about. This specialized software can analyze the moles for changes as well as degree of irregularity. This is not a substitute for the dermatologists’ clinical judgments but another tool to aid the decision making process about whether a mole needs to be removed.
Patients who will benefit from total body photography are those patients who have a personal or family history of malignant melanomas, dysplastic nevus syndrome and or atypical moles or for patients with many moles which can make it difficult to track. Advanced Dermatology now offers this service for our high-risk patients upon the advice of their medical provider.
