A Letter from Dr. Taub

To the patients of Advanced Dermatology,

At Advanced Dermatology we pride ourselves on consistently evolving our protocols. After taking current research into consideration as well as our day to day experiences we have made the decision to eliminate taking the temperature of each patient as they enter the practice, effective February 1, 2021. Since we began taking temperatures in March 2020, we have not identified any cases of COVID in this manner. Thank you to our patients for rescheduling your appointments when you have had an elevated temperature or any upper respiratory symptoms (cough, cold, congestion, sore throat, headache or wheezing) and we ask that you continue to do so. We are confident that the resources used to take the temperatures will be better spent on other patient care services. We will continue to ask the appropriate screening questions when scheduling as well as at arrival. A mask is still required while on premises and should not be removed until requested by your medical provider, even when in a treatment room alone. We continue to limit the amount of people in our offices, therefore family members are only permitted when accompanying a minor or a patient needing assistance.  We remain cautiously optimistic about getting on the other side of the pandemic due to the availability of the new vaccines. However, now is not the time to let down our guard. Let’s stay safe until we are sure!

We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to seeing you soon!

Best Regards,

Amy Forman Taub, MD, FAAD & The Team of Advanced Dermatology
