Tissue Tightening is continuing to expand by demand—now focusing on the body! The Thermage® procedure just received its indication for tightening on the hands and abdomen (Hands by Thermage™ and Tummy by Thermage™). In addition combination therapy is still trending to be the most effective 3-dimensional result – combining Thermage® with Fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, Sculptra) will yield more dramatic results.
This summer we added a new tissue tightening laser, ReFirme™ ST by Syneron. ReFirme™ ST utilizes elôs technology combing infrared light (700-2000nm) simultaneously with bi-polar radio frequency. The addition of ReFirme™ ST has allowed us to further customize tissue tightening treatment programs for our patients. Call to set up an appointment to see if ReFirme™ ST can help you reduce jowl and neck laxity, sagginess under the eyes, fallen brows, nasolabial folds, or other areas that need lifting and tightening.
We began offering treatments with the new Fraxel II (also known as Fraxel 1500) in early 2007. The results so far have been impressive. Treatments with the Fraxel II have by far produced the most dramatic improvement in melasma and acne scarring that we have seen. We have also treated patients with sun damage, surgical or traumatic scars, wrinkles and textural changes, and superficial wrinkles all with exciting results. The Fraxel® SR1500 Laser Treatments results continue to impress us. Patients who have failed other laser and cosmetic treatments for melasma and acne scarring have had outstanding results with a series of Fraxel® SR1500 Laser Treatments. It is also a more global approach to Photorejuvenation improving not only uneven pigmentation but also providing more textural improvement. Schedule your consultation to see if you are a good candidate for Fraxel® SR1500 Laser Treatments and take advantage of our April special.
Dermatologists agree that combination therapy yields the best results and highest patient satisfaction. Although individual treatments are enough for some people, combining different laser and cosmetic treatments together may give more dramatic results. Many patients benefit from BOTOX® Cosmetic and Restylane™ together to address wrinkles of the brow and forehead. Eyes by Thermage™ with Restylane™ to the tear trough is a option that greatly improves this area addressing both the laxity and texture of the eyelids and the hollowness and dark circles underneath. Fraxel® SR1500 Laser Treatments or Aurora FotoFacial™ RF treatments in addition to tissue tightening procedures (like Thermage®, Titan™ or ReFirme ST™) will improve both the irregular pigmentation and surface texture in addition to skin laxity such as jowls and heavy brows. During your consultation, the cosmetic coordinator and provider will discuss all options available based on your specific concerns. If combination therapy is recommended they will help you with timing and scheduling to yield the best results
In May 2007, we added the Pearl to our practice. This treatment device improves facial sun damage and aging changes (such as brown spots, mild wrinkles, etc) by gently removing the top layer of skin, much like our previous erbium laser peels. The Pearl treatments, however, require no posttreatment topical bandages and result in faster healing time. With only 3-7 days of redness and flaking, patients feel comfortable going about their activities with makeup by the third day post treatment. Still the only limiting factor for this device is that it cannot be used on very dark skin types. We will continue to use our Fraxel® SR1500 for those patients with darker skin to produce similar results to the Pearl. So as not to be too confusing, however, the Fraxel® SR1500 is still our best bet for scarring, abnormal pigment like melasma, and deeper problems in the skin.
Welcome the newest addition in our arsenal to treat wrinkles! The Matrix IR™ uses elos technology, combining fractional optical energy with radiofrequency. Because the optical energy is delivered fractionated, it introduces more focused energy into demarcated zones called thermal bands, leaving reservoirs of intact tissue around the thermal bands to assist in renewal. It is a non-ablative treatment with no down time. The Matrix IR™ can be used to treat wrinkles of the face including nasolabial folds, marionette lines, perioral lines (lines around the mouth and lip lines), periorbital lines (crow’s feet), forehead and glabellar lines. Usually a series of 3-6 treatments are performed 4-6 weeks apart. The Matrix IR™ can be combined with other treatments such as photorejuvenation, tissue tightening, BOTOX® Cosmetic, and injectable fillers such as Restylane® and Perlane® to enhance the results. Call for your consultation today to see how Matrix IR™ can benefit you.
The VelaShape, the next generation of the VelaSmooth, is finally here with visible results in 4 treatments! VelaShape is the first FDA-cleared non-invasive treatment for circumferential reduction and cellulite reduction. VelaShape precisely targets problem areas including: posterior thigh, buttocks, outer thighs and hips, anterior thigh, inner thigh, and saddlebags. Featuring the revolutionary elo-s combination of Bi-Polar radiofrequency (RF), infrared light energies, plus negative pressure and tissue manipulation, the VelaShape increases the oxygen intracellular diffusion by heating the skin while vacuum and specially designed rollers manipulate and smooth out the skin to facilitate safe and efficient energy delivery. The net result increases the metabolism of stored energy (lipolysis), increases lymphatic drainage and reduces or shrinks the size of the actual fat chamber. The result: A reduction in the circumference of the treated area and a smoother appearance of the skin’s surface. Call to set up your consultation for the VelaShape today.
How is this different than VelaSmooth? VelaShape delivers more energy resulting in quicker results! If you are a current VelaSmooth patient to discuss your transition over to the new VelaShape!
